"We've got to get in the weight room and work on getting stronger. We'll keep plugging away, keep getting better and moving this program along." Rob Sayre

Conditioning, weight training, and tutoring began the Monday after Christmas break. The players will lift and do cardio conditioning Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesday will be a study hall session with tutoring available. Roll will be taken at these training and tutoring sessions. The times for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for the varsity players is 3:45 – 5:30. The study hall session will be from after school until approximately 4:45.

Incoming freshman are asked to attend the Tuesday and Friday sessions starting at 4:30. They should be completed close to 5:30.

If your player is involved in another sport, the player must contact Coach Sayre prior to the Christmas break so attendance at the required training will be excused.

Any questions please contact Coach Sayre.

Generals,

Our off season program has only 64 total weight sessions before the dead period. You need to attend them all, it is crucial from a get better/ injury prevention stand point, as well as you will be held accountable by your teammates. The coaches are committed, the players and parents need to be committed to fundraising, getting to practice and putting forth maximum effort.

Our program in the offseason is what gets us ready to compete at high levels and it takes a commitment from each player to attain our goals.

Everyone has outside influences and other things that can cause distractions; you must focus and push yourself to maintain a high level of commitment throughout the year to maximize your potential. Do not get to the end of your career and wonder what happened, wonder what if….. Do not be one of the seniors at the end of the year that says, “I wish I had”.  You must make it happen and make your dreams come true. Nothing happens by chance, now is the time to begin your quest for a championship.

Every week you step on the field in the red, white and blue…. You are a target; you WILL take everyone’s best shot week in week out. The post season may seem like a long way away, but it begins January 5th and it will be here before you know it, I promise you.

Playing football at Lafayette is an honor, a privilege. Make the most of it and leave Lafayette with no regrets, you are the one responsible for your future!

Sincerely,

Coach Sayre
